BudgetZen Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 19, 2026

BudgetZen (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a personal finance wellbeing companion. We designed it to work offline-first and to keep your financial information on your device by default.

Summary

Information we process

Depending on how you use BudgetZen, the app may store:

Where data is stored

By default, data is stored locally using your device’s secure storage and local database. Sensitive values (such as session tokens when cloud sync is enabled) may use the platform secure keystore.

If you enable optional cloud sync (Supabase), your data may be transmitted over encrypted HTTPS to the cloud project you or your organization configured. BudgetZen does not operate a mandatory central account service for core app features.

Permissions

What we do not collect

Data sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Data leaves your device only if you enable optional cloud sync to a service you configure, or if you explicitly export/share content (for example, sharing a progress card you generate).

Data retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear app storage, or uninstall BudgetZen. If you use cloud sync, deletion depends on your cloud provider’s configuration — contact us if you need help.

Children

BudgetZen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Security

We use industry-standard practices including encrypted transport (HTTPS) for sync and platform secure storage where appropriate. No method of storage is 100% secure; please use device lock and optional app PIN/biometrics.

International users

If you enable cloud sync, your data may be processed in regions supported by your chosen cloud provider.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
